AI consulting for Brisbane businesses

Independent 1:1 AI advisory for Brisbane founders and operators, from someone who lives and works here. Sessions run over video, the written plan lands within two business days, and I do not sell the software I recommend.

The idea, mapped out

How I would work through the decision

The starting point is your work, rather than a particular tool.

  1. 01

    Show the workflow

Bring a real example, the tools involved and where you get stuck.

  2. 02

    Choose an approach

Compare a simpler process, an existing tool and a separately scoped build.

  3. 03

    Review what happened

Try the agreed next step and use the result to guide the next decision.

A useful next step has an owner, a clear purpose and a way to check whether it helped.

This is the one city page where local is literal

Brisbane is home. I live and work here, which makes this the only city page on the site where the word local is doing honest work rather than marketing work. Sessions still run over video, the same as they do for every other client, because it is quicker to schedule and it keeps the price flat. The difference is that you are talking to someone in your city, on your clock, who already knows what a Brisbane business looks like from the inside.

The economy here is not Sydney's and it is not Melbourne's, and the AI conversation follows that. Brisbane runs on trades and construction, property and development, professional services, transport and logistics through the port, resources services with head offices in the CBD, and health. A big share of the businesses I speak to are owner-operated, somewhere between 5 and 50 people, and the person asking me the question is usually the same person writing quotes at nine o'clock at night.

So the first project here is rarely a chatbot. It is quote drafting, turning job notes into invoices, catching the follow-ups that fall through, or getting a small team to produce documents faster. Trades and construction businesses want to know whether the estimating tools they keep hearing about are worth a trial. Professional services firms want to know what can go into a model without creating a client problem. Property and development businesses want faster document review. None of that needs a custom build to get started, which is usually the most useful sentence in the session.

There is also a growth tailwind worth naming. With the infrastructure pipeline running towards 2032, construction, trades and the services businesses feeding them are trying to take on more work in a labour market where hiring is slow and expensive. When you cannot easily add people, admin capacity becomes the constraint, and that is where a sensible piece of AI earns its keep. It also means plenty of local businesses are being approached by agencies right now, which is a decent reason to work out what you need before somebody tells you what you need.

What Brisbane businesses ask me

  • I write quotes every night after the kids go to bed. Can any of this take that off me?
  • We are a twelve-person firm. Do we need anything custom, or is a subscription plus proper training enough?
  • Is the AI estimating software the trades keep hearing about actually any good on our drawings?
  • What can we put into ChatGPT without breaching our client agreements?
  • We want to grow without adding admin headcount. Where does that realistically come from?

One practical note: Queensland does not run daylight saving, so my hours are the same all year. From October to April that puts me an hour behind Sydney and Melbourne, which suits Brisbane clients and is worth knowing if your team is split across states. AI Consulting is A$1,195 per month + GST, with a call each fortnight, clarity on what to build in Claude or ChatGPT and practical guidance on how to do it. No lock-in. Common questions

Do you meet Brisbane clients in person?

Our calls are online. I’m based in Brisbane and we agree a time that works across our time zones.

What do Brisbane businesses usually ask about?

Quoting, job admin and follow-ups, mostly. Many of the businesses here are owner-operated trades, construction, property and professional services firms between 5 and 50 people, so the first useful project is normally taking repetitive paperwork off the owner rather than building anything customer-facing. The next most common question is what can safely go into a model without breaching a client agreement.

What does a session cost, and what do I get?
